Ballynahinch Castle

Located on a 700 acre, Ballynahinch Castle nestled between the river, lakes & The Twelve Bens. A luxury hotel with 48 bedrooms and suites, the majority or rooms are overlooking the river. Two self-catering properties, Lettery Lodge & Owenmore Cottage are discretely located on the estate just a 3 minute walk from the hotel and ideal for those looking for extra space. Lettery Lodge is a luxury five bedroom property over 7,000 sq feet while Owenmore is a six bedroom house over 3,500 sq feet.

Enjoy dinner in the elegant Owenmore Restaurant overlooking the river surrounded by a magnificent art collection including works by Gerard Dillon, Louis le Brocquy and Jack B Yeats. The more casual Fisherman’s Pub & Ranji room is popular with guests and locals and is open for lunch and dinner. The kitchen team are spoiled for choice for ingredients both on and off the estate, from our walled garden vegetables to Cleggan crab and Killary mussels. The Terrace overlooking the river is perfect for lunch or a pre-dinner drink when the weather allows and Afternoon Tea every Saturday in the restaurant is a real treat.

On the estate, explore over 10 miles of walking trails, try your hand at fly fishing or cycle the new Connemara Greenway. Locally, explore the fishing villages and beaches or hike Errisbeg and Diamond Hill or the more challenging Twelve Bens. Our expert guides are available to accompany you on one of these stunning hikes. Enjoy a picnic in the walled garden or further afield as you explore the wider area. Picnics are available for guests and non-residents.

Of course, for many, simply strolling around the walled garden or reading a book by an open log fire is the perfect way to spend an afternoon.
Ballynahinch Castle is the perfect choice for exploring Connemara.
